Will Prosera Help You Sleep Better?

The more we learn about the body and how it works the more remedies have become available to help us live longer than ever before and have a better quality of life.  The body is an amazing thing, there are so many intricate parts and systems that man is still trying to figure out how it all works in unison.  Modern medicine is always researching and studying how the complicated human works.  Medicines are developed every day that will assist us in living a better quality of life and helps us live a little longer.  Herbal supplements are gaining in popularity and giving us alternative answers to what ails us or to go along with these medicines that are out there.  Prosera is one of those natural supplements that is used as a sleep aid.  We all need our sleep and when we do not get it or do not have a good quality of sleep we are miserable and looking for help.  Prosera is designed as to “support serotonin activity in a natural  way.”  It says that within minutes you will notice a calming yet refreshing feeling.  They say that anyone who wants to improve mood and enhance happiness should try this product.   It talks about improving your mood but does it have much effect on sleeping?

Prosera Ingredients and Research:

The main ingredients are:

  • 5-HTP—another word is Serotonin.  It is a hormone that is used to treat depression, anxiety disorders, and social phobias.  Serotonin is known as the happiness hormone.  Lack of serotonin in the body can cause depression, anxiety, apathy, fear, feelings of worthlessness, insomnia and fatigue.
  • St. John’s Wort—an herb that has been used by many for depression symptoms
  • ATP—binds chemicals
  • SAMe precursors—a chemical that helps make Serotonin

Prosera Side Effects:

There were no side effects listed.  Always a red flag to me when they list no side effects of their product

Prosera Value

Prosera is a relatively inexpensive supplement.   It is $34.95 for 60 tablets.  It does not necessarily target insomnia for maybe not the best option.

Prosera  Bottom Line:

We hear so much about serotonin and what happens to our bodies when we are lacking it or not producing enough of it.  It is known as the happiness hormone and when levels are low or non-existent then such things as depression, anxiety, apathy, fear, fatigue, and insomnia can occur.  It seems like the main focus of serotonin is to combat feelings of depression.  The main ingredients all seem to be directed towards dealing with depression.  I guess if you have both depression and insomnia that may be something that is appealing but if you are just looking for a better night’s sleep there are ample supplements out there that would target it.  You can wade through the zillions of sleep aid supplements out there to see which one best suits your needs or you can check out what Sleep-Aids. Com recommends and go from there.
