NightFood

Does NightFood help you sleep?

Sleep is the healthiest solution to revitalize our bodies; lack thereof is detrimental to how we function. So you can imagine the mishap it brings to people with insomnia, or perhaps you are one that knows. Either way, NightFood is an innovative new take on the dietary sleep aid market. The founder claims to have waited for a product like this for a little over 10 years. Surprisingly, not one company produced a product similar to what he had imagined.

Like a protein bar you would take before going to the gym. NightFood is nutrition to help you sleep. It consists of melatonin and active ingredient that helps promote sleepiness.

NightFood Ingredient and Research

Sleep Promoting Ingredients: Calcium, protein, and Melatonin.

Melatonin-has long been linked to sleep. Exploration of melatonin has shown that people with some forms of insomnia have lower levels of melatonin. Melatonin is claimed to be safe if taken for only a month or so, but since research is limited, there is not proof suggesting its safety for long term use. The most common side effects known are nausea, headache, and dizziness which remain well into the next day.

Calcium- a muscle food is vital in supplementing the effectiveness of melatonin because it provides better delivery and it also relieves muscles of tension. Those that have restless leg syndrome may find calcium to work wonders.

Protein is reported by WebMD to be a nutrient that promotes sleepiness. Nightfood contains 6 grams of protein per bar.

NightFood Side Effects

Melatonin is often paired with side effects. This includes drowsiness, anxiety, light-headedness, and dizziness.

NightFood Value

Medical research suggests that food has an effective affect to promote sleep within each of us. This study is congruent with the formula created by NightFood in most aspects. Some of the ingredients like Chocamine, contains caffeine. There is only a small amount of Chocamine in each bar, however I’m surprised to find a caffeinated product at all in a sleep aid. On the other hand NightFood includes melatonin, which is found in most dietary supplements that promote sleep. You will most likely fall asleep with this product, while receiving proper nutrients for bedtime.

NightFood doesn’t suggest the use of these bars every night, only when you absolutely need it. If you have serious sleep problems then this product will not be ideal.

NightFood Bottom Line

Innovative, somewhat effective and overpriced. For the value of the product and quality you are paying way above and beyond what a typical sleep aid cost. I would suggest opting for a capsule or tablet sleep aid because it is more effective.
