Flora Sleep

Will Flora Sleep Help You Sleep Better?

This is definitely a different take on a natural sleep aid.  This one has to do with essential oils and aromatherapy.  Most of us have heard of these and some of us may have even used some before for various reasons.  One of the popular ones that is out there is lavender.  In fact, lavender is used in may bath  and health products these days because it has been said that is can be relaxing to the body when inhaled or topically used on our bodies.  The premise for aromatherapy is it stimulates the sense of smell and has the quickest effect on our brains.  We have the capacity to distinguish over 10,000 different smells.  They say it is a unique liquid sleep aid that should help you go to sleep fast.  They claim it promotes deep relaxation in order to facilitate falling asleep and staying asleep.  It even says is helps the soul more fully release from the body while sleeping in order to experience dreams and related spiritual information.  Gee, all that from a little spray?!

Flora Sleep Ingredients and Research

You do not consume this product, you spray it on topically or you can add it to a warm bath.  It is made up of two ingredients that are made from flower extracts and essential oils.  The two extracts are California Valerian which is just simply a valerian plant that is native to California but has the same properties as other valerian extracts and the other is chamomile extract.  Valerian and chamomile extracts are known to help with relaxation of the nervous system when taken orally  but no effect found when it is used topically.  The other ingredients are white and red chestnut, olive, aloe vera and alpine aster which have no known effects on sleeping.  They say that Flora Sleep must be misted on an hour before bed and then again when you go to bed.  If you wake up during the night they say you just spray it again to get the effects.  Apparently it must not last a long time on the pillow if you are constantly having to spray the product on your pillow!

Flora Sleep Side Effects

There are no known effects from this product.  Maybe a side effect could be wet hair or a wet pillow because you have to spray often!

Flora Sleep Value

It is around $9.00 for a liquid bottle which might not sound pricey but if you are constantly using it during the night it won’t be long and it will be gone.  You can even use this on your animals so they get a good night’s sleep!!

Flora Sleep Bottom Line

Aromatherapy may be useful in some instances but as far as Flora Sleep it seems to be little use as a sleep aid.  There is no known effect when valerian and chamomile are used topically so you could just but any lotion or spray in it and get the same effect.  This product is a waste of your money and does not hold up with its claims.  Trying a natural herbal supplement would be the wiser choice.  I would look to see what Sleep-aids.com has to recommend and go from there.
