Dream Water
How Does Dream Water Work?
Unlike most sleep aids, Dream Water is a drink that helps put you to sleep. Most sleep aids come in pill form or liquid droplets. There are a few “sleep snack bars” too, but this is the very first drink I have ever reviewed.
What are the benefits to the drink form? Well it is fast and easy. You can take the shot version of Dream Water on airplanes and what have you. Other than that, it is about the same as pills and droplets.
Dream Water causes drowsiness and helps you relax, both mind and body.
Dream Water Ingredients:
Dream Water contains three active ingredients: Melatonin, GABA, and 5-HTP.
Melatonin is produced naturally by your body. It is the hormone responsible for regulating your sleep/wake cycle. The more melatonin in your blood stream the more tired you should become.
GABA promotes relaxation more than anything else. It won’t, by itself, promote sleepiness. It can help relieve muscle tension though.
5-HTP is a compound that comes from tryptophan. When ingested it is soon converted into serotonin which is eventually converted into melatonin. The best sleep aids try to treat insomnia from several different angles. Unfortunately, it seems as though Dream Water only treats one particular pathway (i.e. melatonin). That approach is still often successful, but you can get melatonin tablets/droplets for much less than the cost of Dream Water.
Dream Water Customer Reviews:
“This stuff is convenient for traveling but not for much else. You can buy melatonin tablets or liquid drops for a lot cheaper and they do the same thing.” – Erica
“It didn’t do anything for me. Maybe I just need a prescription medication because I have tried other OTC pills and they didn’t work either. My problem is waking up in the middle of the night. Most of these products help me fall asleep but none of them keeps me asleep. I tried one of these Dream Water’s from a friend and it was the same as the rest, just more expensive apparently. Sigh.” – Peter
“As an insomniac of many years, I picked up a Dream Water at my local pharmacy, where they’re sold in individual 2.5-oz bottles in two flavors, Snoozeberry and Lullaby Lemon. I’ve tried every over-the-counter sleep aid there is, and some help, some don’t — this stuff really works. It makes me very drowsy, and far as I can tell, there are no adverse side effects. Both flavors are subtle and pleasant, and contain no calories… One minor complaint — the stuff’s expensive (hence the four stars, rather than five)! Even if you buy it by the 12-pk, it’s about $2 a pop! I guess it depends, then, on how bad you want to sleep. I like having the stuff around for when nothing else is working.” – Walter
Is Dream Water Worth Trying?
A 6-pack of Dream Water (both the shot and drink version) costs $19.99 (just over $3 per bottle). You shouldn’t have to deal with any side effects, which is a big plus. But, at that price it isn’t worth it. You can get the same ingredients from nearly any sleep aid. Peruse some of our top rated products to learn about the very best sleep aids.
