Alteril
Alteril Review:
Alteril is a simple, yet effective sleeping pill. It is composed of two primary ingredients: L-Tryptophan and Melatonin.
You probably know a little bit about each of these ingredients. But if not, here is a brief description of what they do.
Tryptophan is found in almost every source of protein (both plant and animal). It is popular for being the ingredient in turkey that makes you sleepy (like the episode of Seinfeld when Jerry plays with his girlfriends vintage toys). Tryptophan is eventually converted into serotonin which is later converted into melatonin.
Melatonin is released from the pineal gland in the brain and it is the hormone that controls your sleep/wake cycle.
Alteril Customer Reviews:
“I’ve given many samples to approving friends. I Love this product. Waking up is wonderful because you wake up completely alert, never groggy. Most often I sleep fewer hours because I get a better, deeper sleep. The vivid dreams are wonderful. I’ve never had a nightmare on Alteril, just great dreams. LOL I took it for about three weeks straight…just for the vivid dreams. I have reordered and the product has sat for about a month, I just take it when I need a great night’s sleep. Completely non addictive but I will take one tonight since writing this has put it on my mind again. Enjoy!” – H.B. Fordham
“Pills are no good. It affects my memory. I forget everything the next day.” – Anonymous
“I have been taking this product for about 3 months every night (2 pills). I work overnights at my job and it’s sometimes hard to get to sleep or stay asleep. I have found that with this product provides both. I was only getting maybe 4 or 5 hrs of sleep I am now getting at leat 7 sometimes 8. I have not had any problems with memory or concentraion, no foggy feelings at all the next day.” – Anonymous
“This stuff definitely puts me to sleep but it made me crazy hungover the next day. I felt like I went on an all night bender before waking up the next morning. I had a headache and I was kind of light headed. After having some coffee and taking a shower I felt a little better, but I haven’t taken Alteril since then. I have tried melatonin pills before so it must have been the tryptophan…I don’t know.” – Steven
Alteril Side Effects:
There are a couple of serious, though rare, side effects associated with tryptophan. Eosinophilia-myalgia syndrome or Serotonin syndrome can be very serious. Symptoms of these syndromes include: nerve and muscle pain, hair loss, rash, confusion, light-headedness, increased heartbeat, sweating, diarrhea, and muscle spasms.
Is Alteril Worth Trying?
One month’s supply of Alteril costs about $10 give or take a few bucks. You can buy it at major stores (i.e. Wal Mart) so it’s pretty easy to get hold of.
It is a solid sleep aid. There are better products out there (with fewer side effects), but Alteril is still a decent option. To learn more about the very best sleep aids you should check out our list of top rated products.
